GRENADA: Opposition criticises China move

On 20 January Grenada officially established ties with China, although it was seven days more before it announced that it had "severed official relations with Taiwan". The move to cut ties with Taiwan, which were established in 1985, had been on the cards for some time, but it is clear that the damage caused by Hurricane Ivan was the immediate catalyst.
